Pastor’s Weekly Update
Four Campuses All Summer Long
We are knocking on the door of summer as we see 90 degree days with flowers and buds blossoming everywhere. People are out walking, college graduations have happened and high school graduations are just around the corner. That also means Vacation Bible School in June and the beginning of the summer family vacation season. Oh, and let’s don’t forget the Spring and Summer sports schedule which tends to dominate family time.
So, what does that mean for our CrossPoint family? It often means that church attendance drops off a bit during the summer. Some of that is because people are traveling and enjoying family and friends on out of town trips. For others, it’s about having a relaxing Sunday morning. The idea of getting dressed up and having to face people on just one cup of coffee is not appealing to everyone, especially in the summer months.
So, I think it would be good to say this to everyone…”come as you are”. Okay, I say that understanding that there are limits, right? But, shorts and flip-flops are allowed. Also, sports uniforms are allowed that need to be worn to the game that is scheduled to be played right after church. It’s also okay to change which service or which campus you go to on a Sunday morning. Check out the worship times of each service starting as early as 8:00 a.m. with the last service happening at 12:00 p.m.
God is calling us to worship together as a church family. Remembering that your church is a part of your weekend plan can help keep your faith on track all summer long. See you in church!
